Zoning Board Approves Height Fix on Barcliff Ave, 4-1
The Chatham Zoning Board of Appeals voted 4-1 to approve a height discrepancy on a rebuilt Barcliff Avenue home.
Zoning Board · Meeting of October 8, 2026
CHATHAM — The Chatham Zoning Board of Appeals voted 4-1 to approve a height discrepancy on a rebuilt Barcliff Avenue home. A member said she had rewatched the board's 2025 hearing and found the finished house did not match assurances it would be "invisible to the street and the neighbors," but voted to approve; the lone dissenting member called it "sloppy work." Jill Boudreau represented her parents, Donald and Susan Boudreau, whose home measured 29.1 feet against an approved 29-foot limit. The board also continued a contested floodplain rebuild at 53 Little Beach Road to December 3 after a member pressed on a 373-square-foot, 26 percent expansion within the coastal conservancy district, and continued a disputed single-family proposal at 10 Marketplace to January 14, 2027, after abutting business owner John Fulmer objected to a patio near his commercial driveway.
The board approved unopposed additions at 94 School Street and 18 Old Wharf Road unanimously.
